Bank of the State of South Carolina
Variant namesThe Bank of the State of South Carolina was incorporated under the laws of the state of South Carolina in 1812. Headquartered in Charleston, the Bank of the State of South Carolina established branches at Columbia, Camden, and Georgetown. All public officers were required to make their disbursements by checks on the bank, and the bank managed the public debt of the state.
