Harris, William P. (William Pickett)
Variant namesBorn in Detroit on July 13, 1897 to William Pickett and Sarah McGraw Harris, William Pickett Harris Jr. lived in Grosse Pointe Park. He was an investment banker and married Elsie Stivers Smith in 1923. Of their three children, their daughter Julie became famous as an award-winning actress. Mr. Harris retired as Associate Curator of Mammals from the University of Michigan Museum of Zoology. His hobby was genealogy and this collection represents his work on his and his wife's family. William Harris Jr. died in Grosse Pointe on April 7, 1972.
