The Health Fund of Greater Cleveland was incorporated by the State of Ohio on July 31, 1959, as a non-profit organization. The purpose of the Fund was to consolidate and supervise fund solicitations in the Greater Cleveland area on behalf of charitable, scientific, and educational organizations engaged in the prevention of disease. The Fund was composed of six participating agencies: The Arthritis Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis, The Diabetes Association, The Hemophilia Foundation, The Kidney Association, and The Muscular Disease Society. The Fund dissolved in September 1977, and its remaining assets were divided among the six participating agencies. The Health Council of United Torch Services assumed the duties of the Fund in 1977.
