Swedish born, American-educated Augustana Lutheran pastor who served congregations in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and New England. In 1890, Dr. Lindberg was called to the chair of systematic theology at Augustana Theological Seminary in Rock Island where he served for forty years until his death on August 2, 1930. He was named dean of the seminary in 1919 and served as vice president of Augustana College and Theological Seminary from 1901-1910.
