Kimball, Thomas Lord, 1831-1899.

Thomas Lord Kimball, railroad executive, moved to Cincinnati, OH, in 1859 to take a public relations job with the Pennsylvania Railway Co. He was appointed assistant general passenger agent in 1863 and, moving to the Chicago headquarters, general western passenger agent in 1868. Kimball transferred to the Union Pacific Railroad Company in 1871 to take charge of the General Passenger and Ticket Agency in Omaha, NE, and remained with that company until his retirement in 1897, having risen to the positions of general manager and third vice-president.
