Massachusetts Bay Company (also known as Commissioners of Massachusetts Bay or Massachusetts Bay Colony) chartered in 1629; in 1684 charter was revoked; the government continued to function, however until 1686, when the Massachusetts Bay Colony was absorbed into the Dominion of New England.
