Church, Dave
The poet Dave Church was born in Providence, Rhode Island in 1947, one of eight children. He lived in Lincoln, Rhode Island, until deciding to leave LaSalle Academy before graduation in order to travel and study the Beat poets. Church worked as a housepainter and then a cabdriver while publishing his poetry in numerous literary journals and corresponding with many writers and editors. He died in his cab of a heart attack in November 2008.
