Utah humanities research foundation
Variant namesThe Utah Humanities Research Foundation was an organization begun in 1944 with a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation to collect and preserve cultural materials throughout Utah and neighboring regions. It began the publication of the Western Humanities Review. In 1950, Maurice Warshaw established an award for the most significant essay on the humanities to be submitted for publication to the Utah Humanities Research Foundation. The award was renewed until 1952. The Foundation also granted fellowships to qualified people for study in various areas of the humanities within the region.
