Strauss, Lewis L.
Variant namesLewis Lichtenstein Strauss (1896-1974) was secretary to Herbert Hoover during World War I, 1917 to 1919. He was first a member of the Atomic Energy Commission from 1946 to 1950, then served as its Chairman from 1953 to 1958. In 1953, Strauss served as Special Assistant to the President on Atomic Energy, 1953, then as Secretary of Commerce (unconfirmed) from 1958 to 1959.
