Jackson, Frederick, 1841-1885.
Native of Massachusetts who relocated to Beaufort District, S.C., immediately after the Civil War to undertake cultivation of cotton on St. Helena Island; son of Edmund and Mary Hewes Jackson; husband of Harriet Pierce Allen Jackson; nephew of the prominent abolitionist Francis Jackson.
