Lefkowitz, Abraham, 1884-1956
One of the founders of the American Federation of Teachers. Vice President of AFT from 1920 to 1934. Retired in 1955 as Principal of Samuel J. Tilden High School in Brooklyn, New York. Active in teachers' unions, and civic and social reform movements from the 1920s to the 1950s.
