John Margolies (born 1940), a writer, critic and photographer, was the Assistant Editor of "Architectural Record" (1964-1968) before becoming associated with the American Federation of Arts (NY) as Coordinator of Experimental Programs. In 1970 Margolies moved to Los Angeles, became a consultant to AFA, and served as guest editor of Design Quarterly, issue no. 78/79.
