Indiana Indian agents

Hide Profile

During the 1830s in Indiana, tensions increased among Indians, the United States government, and white settlers. The 1830 Removal Act set the tone for native-white relations for the next two decades. In Indiana in the 1830s the official policy towards the Miami and Potawatomi people became one of removal and they were forced to leave their homes in Indiana.
