Hatsell, John, 1743-1820
Variant namesHatsell, a Middle Temple lawyer, was clerk assistant in the House of Commons at the end of George II's reign and chief clerk from 1768 to 1797. He published A collection of privilege of Parliament to 1628 in 1776 and his Precedents of proceedings in the House of Commons went through four editions, 1781-1818.
