Blake, Clarence J. (Clarence John), -1919
Variant namesBlake (Harvard, M.D. 1865) was Walter Augustus Lecompte Professor of Otology at Harvard Medical School from 1907 to 1913. He studied at the University of Vienna in 1866, returning to Boston to practice. He began teaching in 1870 and was aural surgeon to the Massachusetts Charitable Eye and Ear Infirmary from 1871 throughout his career; he was also, at different times, president of the Infants' Hospital, manager of Children's Hospital, editor of the American Journal of Otology, and author of a standard textbook on operative otology.
