Trelfa, Fred R., 1886-1979.
Trelfa (1886-1929) was a historian from Alpena (Mich.). Several of his and his brother Tom's collections about early Michigan history are in the Clarke Historical Library. Nothing further is known about Lamb. Montreal (Keweenaw County, Mich.) was a copper mining area that later became part of the Clark Mine.

Fred R. Trelfa, born April 9, 1886 in Strathroy (Ontario, Canada) moved to Alpena (Mich.) in 1895. He married Mable C. Hagen (d. Aug. 19, 1974) on Sept. 16, 1914. They had two children Mable and Richard T. Tom C. Trelfa was Fred's brother. Fred attended public schools until 1902, and then held various jobs in Alpena until 1919 when he began work at Fletcher Paper Co., from which he retired in 1959 as secretary-treasurer and company director. He was active in local organizations, historical societies, and in preserving Alpena's history. He died on March 27, 1979 in Alpena. (Information from his obituary.).

Fred R. Trelfa was a historian from Alpena. He and his brother Tom C. Trelfa accumulated and donated to the Clarke Historical Library several large papers and photographic collections documenting the history of Michigan and Alpena, in particular.
