Griffin, Desire C., 1805-1884.
Married Rev. John Smith Griffin on his way through Missouri (April 10, 1839). Desire was a sister of the second Mrs. H.H. Spalding. Griffin's Indian mission failed in 1840 and the couple settled on the Tualatin plains.
