Hanna Sievers was apparently Johannes's wife. The correspondence reflects that in 1932 Sievers was acquainted with Alma Mahler and Franz Werfel, as well as Alma's stepfather, Carl Moll, and her half-sister Maria Eberstaller. Adolph Loewi, an antiquities dealer, was a mutual friend of Alma and Sievers; at the time of the correspondence in 1945, Loewi was living in California.
