Joseph Amiel, attorney, novelist, and screenwriter, was born in New York City on June 3, 1937. He attended the Fieldston School and Amherst College, graduating in the Class of 1959. He attended Yale Law School and earned the LLB there in 1962. He has published five novels: Hawks (1979); Birthright (1985); Deeds (1988); Star Time (1991); and A Question of Proof (1993), and has written screenplays for a number of movies.
