Whayne, Tom F. (Tom French), 1905-
Variant namesPhysician, 1905-1997. Whayne received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in 1931 and his doctoral degree in Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health in 1950. Whayne served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1934 to 1955, working for much of that time in the Office of the Surgeon General in the areas of medical intelligence and preventive medicine. After retiring from the military, Whayne served as a professor and administrator at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine (1955-63) and at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine (1963-74).
