Roberts, Summerfield G. and Annie Lee Warren
Summerfield G. Roberts, resident of Terrell and Dallas, Texas, was an independent oilman, businessman, fifth-generation Texan, naval officer (1917-1919), alumnus of the University of Texas and Harvard University, and philanthropist. He was president of Strebor Oil Co. (1934-1969), Hanover Oil Corp. (1932-1969), Caribou Oil Co., and Pyramid Oil Co.; vice-president of Dalclark Oil Corp.; and stockholder in other oil ventures; member and officer of many civic, philanthropic, and patriotic organizations. His estate endowed the Summerfield G. Roberts Foundation and Summerlee Foundation to support Texas history, animal rights, and Native American schools. His wife, Annie Lee Warren Roberts, was involved in Dallas civic groups, patriotic organizations, animal rights, and genealogical research.
