Organized in 1953, the Democratic Advisory Council was appointed by the chairman of the National Democratic Party to sell the Democratic Digest, to raise funds, and to strengthen the Democratic Party. The DAC had seven officers who, together with ten regional chairmen, composed a Steering Committee; 62 executive committee members and 175 active democrats were also members of the organization.
