At the age of 44, Glenn W. Ferguson became the ninth President of the University of Connecticut, serving from August 1973 to April 1978. Ferguson held degrees in economics, business administration and law. Prior to his tenure as President, he worked in various diplomatic, administrative and teaching positions. Ferguson resigned in 1978 to become Chief Executive Officer of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
