Sorensen family.
Frederick Isaac Sorensen arrived in Mendon, Utah in 1859 as one of the first settlers of the region. He married Mary Kristine Jacobsen in 1869 with whom he had eleven children. Their fifth son, Alma N. Sorensen joined the Utah Agricultural College staff in 1926 and was a professor of English for twenty-three years. He married Mary Carlisle in 1924. Mary was the daughter of John E. and Clara Melissa Crandall Carlisle. Robert (Bob), Philip and Mark Sorensen, sons of Mary and Alma earned Bachelor and Master degrees from Utah State University.
