Anna Stowell Bassett, (d. ca. 1954), worked as a public health officer in Savannah, Georgia. As an active member of the Savannah Audubon Society, Bassett served as the president of that organization. Her interest in birds led her to study John Abbot, Georgia's first naturalist who specialized in ornithology and Lepidoptera. Bassett's study of Abbot led her to publish two articles about him.
