Phillips, Ulrich Bonnell, 1877-1934
Variant namesUlrich B. Phillips was a history professor in Madison, Wisconsin. Robert Preston Brooks was a 1904 Rhodes scholar and later a professor of economics and dean of the UGA School of Commerce (1920 to 1945). He was the first alumni secretary and founder and editor of the Georgia Alumni Record.

Ulrich Bonnell Phillips was born in La Grange, Louisiana, on November 4, 1887. He taught history at several universities, including Yale University (1929-1934). He specialized in southern history, collected primary source material, and published extensively on the subject. Phillips died in New Haven, Connecticut, on January 21, 1934.
