HAROLD CHAMBERS was born on October 15, 1885, in Hampton, Nebraska. He studied architecture at the Armour Institute and later traveled in Mexico studying traditional architecture. In 1907 he joined the firm of Myron Hunt and Elmer Grey and continued on into the `teens working in Myron Hunt's office. In 1920 he became a partner with Hunt and this association lasted until Hunt's death in 1947. In 1948 he formed the firm of Chambers & Hibbard which continued through 1957, after which he practiced on his own.

ELMER GREY (1871-1963) (see Hunt & Grey). Grey was apprentice to a local Milwaukee architect in the 1880s, after which he studied and traveled in Europe. He returned to the U. S. to open his own practice in Milwaukee, but poor health forced him to move to California. In 1904 he joined Myron Hunt to form a partnership which lasted through 1910. Grey then set up his own practice which he continued through the l93Os. In addition to his work as a designer, he wrote architectural studies.

MYRON HUNT attended Northwestern University and M.I.T. During 1893-94 he studied and traveled in Europe. Upon returning to the United States he worked in the Boston office of Sheploy, Rutan and Coolidge. He began his architectural practice in Chicago in 1897 and came to Los Angeles in 1903. Between 1904 and 1910 he was associated with Elmer Grey. He practiced independently until 1920 when the firm of Hunt and Chambers was formed. This partnership continued until his death in 1952.
