Rondo Emmett Cameron was born in 1925 in Linden, Texas and died in 2001 in Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his BA and MA from Yale University in 1948 and 1949 respectively, and received the PhD from the University of Chicago in 1952. Dr. Cameron taught at Yale University (1951-1952) and the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1952-1956, 1957-1961, 1961-1969). He served as Visiting Professor of Economics, University of Chicago (1956-1957), Fulbright Visiting Professor, University of Glasgow (1962-1963), Special Field Representative, Rockefeller Foundation in Latin America, Santiago, Chile (1965-1967). In 1970 Dr. Cameron was appointed William Rand Kenan, Jr. Professor at Emory University, Atlanta, GA and served there until his retirement.
