Kirk, R. Dean, -1945
Variant namesBusinessman. Worked as a telegrapher in Bovina, Texas, and as a station agent for the Pecos Valley Railroad. Invested in a general mercantile store in Amarillo, Texas, owned by his brother-in-law, E. W. White, then became general manager of the White & Kirk Company in 1908, which was a leading retail outlet in Amarillo through the 1940s. Kirk was also president of the Benonine Oil Company and of the Retail Merchants Association of Amarillo. Also dealt in Amarillo real estate with his partner, John L. Brock of Decatur, Alabama. Kirk died in 1945.
