National Council of Jewish Women. Chicago Section.
The National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) was founded in 1893 as the Council of Jewish Women (name changed in 1923 to National Council of Jewish Women). The Chicago Section, the founding section, was organized by Hannah Greenebaum Solomon, who served as first president of the national organization and as president of the Chicago chapter for 12 years.
