Howarth, John Bradshaw, 1858-1943
William E. Bouton (1836-1905). Union Army deserter, went to Marquette, Michigan, and then to Detroit in 1866, where he became a partner with Hazen Pingree, under the name of Charles H. Smith. He retired from the firm in 1883, ran into financial reverses, moved to NYC.
