English, Albert Charles, 1863-1945

Albert Charles English travelled to New Guinea in 1883 as a collector of natural history specimens. After the area he worked in was declared a British protectorate, English worked with the administration and was appointed Justice of the Peace in 1891. In 1907, English resigned and became a plantation owner in the Territory of Papua.
