Variant namesThe office of the Director of Liquidation and the Liquidation Advisiory Committee were created within the Office for Emergency Management, Executive Office of the President, by Executive Order 9674, dated January 4, 1946. Their function was to direct, advise, and assist in the orderly and timely winding up of affairs of temporary war agencies and activities, particularly with respect to personnel, records, property, space, and accounts.
