Dowse, Aaron Coolidge, b. 1856.
Aaron Coolidge Dowse (1856- ) was born in Sherborn, Mass., and educated at Boston University Law School. In 1876 he became editor and publisher of the New England Grocer magazine. Dowse was president of the Massachusetts Press Club and represented Sherborn in the General Court. He moved to Malden, Mass., in the 1880s where he became editor of the Malden City Press and served in various town offices. Dowse was instrumental in the formation of retail grocers' associations throughout the country.
