Hunter, Malcolm Kenmore, 1837-1866
The sons of James Hunter (1812-1840) and Mary Myers Smith (1820-1890), Nathaniel Wych Hunter (1839-1905) and Malcolm Kenmore Hunter (1837-1866), were raised in Houston County, Texas.
During the Civil War, the brothers enlisted in Company A of the 2nd Texas Cavalry Regiment of the Confederate Army. Malcolm Kenmore Hunter died shortly after the war. In 1865, Nathaniel Wych married Jane Armistead Beeson (1845-1934), with whom he had at least eight children. The couple settled in Palestine, Texas, where he practiced law.
