Frederick Startridge Ellis, bookseller and author, was for many years the official buyer for the British Museum. He compiled important catalogs of collectors such as Henry Huth and Charles J.J. Heywood. As a publisher on a limited scale, his most important books were works by William Morris and Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
