Leonty, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, 1876-1965.
Metropolitan Leonty (Turkevich) was born and ordained in Russia and came to the United States in 1906. He was editor of the Russian-American Orthodox Messenger, dean of St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York City and became bishop of Chicago in 1933. he was elected Metropolitan in 1950.
