Pacific Counseling Service
Variant namesThe Pacific Counseling Service, founded in Monterey, California in 1969, assisted military service personnel in trying to make the United States Armed Forces adhere to regulations concerning G.I. rights and conscientious objector discharges. Eventually there were five California locations, one in Washington State, and others in the Philippines, Japan and Okinawa. Staff consisted of clergymen, ex-servicemen, Vietnam veterans, and civilian conscientious objectors. The legal staff was provided by the National Lawyers Guild.

The Pacific Counseling Service and the National Lawyers Guild's Military Law Office provided legal and personal counseling for U. S. servicemen and women in the Bay Area, Asia and West Germany during the Vietnam War. They were particularly active at U.S. military installations in Asia and participated in the GI Movement with other antiwar groups.
