Young, Zina Diantha Huntington Jacobs Smith, 1821-1901
Variant namesZina D.H. Young was born 31 January 1821 in Watertown, New York, to William Huntington and Zina Baker Huntington. Zina was baptized into the LDS Church by Hyrum Smith on 1 August 1835. On 7 March 1841 Zina married Henry Bailey Jacobs, with whom she had two sons: Zebulon Williams Jacobs and Henry Chariton Jacobs. Later that year, she married to Joseph Smith, Jr. on 27 October 1841. On 2 February 1846 she maried Brigham Young with whom she had a daughter, Zina Presendia Young. In addition to her three biological children, she raised four stepchildren (Mary, Clarissa Maria, Willard, and Phoebe) after their mother Clarissa Ross Chase Young died. In her later years, Zina served as Relief Society General President beginning in 1888 until her death on 27 August 1901 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Jacobs family included Zina Diantha Huntington Jacobs Smith Young, Henry Bailey Jacobs, and their two sons, Zebulon William and Henry Chareton Jacobs. Zina was born on January 31, 1821 in Watertown, New York to William Huntington and Zina Baker. She was baptized at the age of fifteen by Patriarch Hyrum Smith on 1 August 1835. She was later married to Henry Bailey Jacobs in Nauvoo, had two sons, Zebulon William and Henry Chariton Jacobs, but later separated from her husband. She was married to the Prophet Joseph Smith and was sealed to him after his martyrdom. She was then married to the Prophet Brigham Young until her death in Salt Lake City on August 28, 1901.
