Tucker, Philip Crosby, 1826-1894
Variant namesPhilip Crosby Tucker III’s father was Philip Crosby Tucker, Jr. (1826–1894), Confederate war veteran, pioneer Mason, Galveston lawyer, and appointed secretary of the Galveston Historical Society. Tucker and his father managed the Society from 1888 to 1894, preserving many valuable documents. Philip Crosby Tucker III inherited the minutes, records, and many materials from the Galveston Historical Society.
