Rittman, Trude

The ballet Charade was composed by Trude Rittman based on American songs and social dances popular in the epoch of 1895-1910 incl. melodies of Stephen Foster & Louis Moreau Gottschalk. It was written for the American Ballet Caravan and was first performed in New York at the St. James Theater on December 26, 1939 with choreography by Lew Christensen.
