Am. Revolutionary army officer and colonel in the 25th Regiment of Foot from Mass. Bond led the regiment from July 1775 to August 1776, when he died from illness at a camp near Fort Ticonderoga, N.Y. At the time the Mass. 25th Regiment had been ordered north as part of the attempt to conquer Canada.
