Wedgwood, Josiah C. (Josiah Clement), 1872-1943
Variant namesJosiah Clement Wedgwood (1872-1943), Member of Parliament for Newcastle-under-Lyme, 1906-1942, and Lieutenant Commander, RNVR (Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve) and RNAS (Royal Naval Air Service), served on the Western Front, the Dardenelles and East Africa, 1914-1916, before serving on the Mesopotamia Commission in 1916, as Assistant Director, Trench Warfare, in 1917 and in Siberia in 1918. He was awarded the DSO (Distinguished Service Order) and twice mentioned in despatches.

Josiah Clement Wedgwood, 1st Baron Wedgwood (1872-1943), great great grandson of the first Josiah Wedgwood was Liberal M.P. for Newcastle-under-Lyme from 1906 to 1919 and then Labour M.P. for the same constituency from 1919 to 1942.
