Stuart, Byron Daniel, 1843-1862.
Byron Daniel Stuart was born May 1843 in Schuyler County, New York and was the son of John William Stuart (1811-1881) and Hannah (Hattie) McCarty (b. 1817). During the Civil War (1861-1865), Stuart served in the 48th Regiment of New York Volunteers and played in the band. Stuart died at Fort Pulaski in Savannah, Georgia on 16 June 1862.
