Baker, Alberta Hensel Pew,
Alberta Hensel Pew Baker was born to Joseph N. Pew, Jr. and Alberta Craven Hensel Pew in Overbrook, Pennsylvania in June, 1928. She had two sisters and one brother. She grew up in Ardmore, Pennsylvania and attended the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and the Garrison Forest School in Owings Mills, Maryland. She graduated from Sweet Briar College with a major in political science and nuclear physics. In 1951 she married David Baker, a physician. The Bakers had six children, four girls and two boys. After living in Boston during her husband's residency at the Leahy Clinic, the family returned to Pennsylvania, settling in St. Davids. In 1970 the family moved to Nova Scotia.
