Heriot, Robert, 1739-1792
Robert Heriot immigrated to South Carolina in 1759 and settled in Georgetown, where he became a merchant and plantation owner. He married Mary Ouldfield, daughter of John Ouldfield and Anne LaRoche. Robert Heriot was commissioned a captain of light infantry in the Continental Army in 1776 and became a colonel in 1779.
