John Hoskins was a Quaker elder associated with Burlington Monthly Meeting from Burlington County. Born around the year 1728, he married Mary Raper, daughter of Joshua and Sara Raper in 1750; the couple had eleven children named Sarah, Raper, Ruth, Joseph, Lydia, John, Mary, Rachel, Thomas, Caleb, and Abigail. His daughter Sarah married Thomas Scattergood (b.1728) and his daughter Mary was married twice, first to Isaac Bonsall (b.1765), and then to Samuel Newbold (b.1771). His daughter Abigail was married to John Griscom (b.1774). John died in his home in Burlington after an illness that lasted four days on March 27, 1814.
