Oberteuffer, Reece Marriner, 1867-1906
Charles Dickens (1812-1870), regarded today as one of the greatest English novelists, was both prolific and immensely popular with the public throughout his lifetime. His success continued after his death, leading to the production of a flourish of memorabilia celebrating his life and career. Collecting such memorabilia, known as Dickensiana, became a passion for many of his devoted readers.
