Conductor and music promoter. Ormond professor of music at Melbourne University, 1925-1956, and life conductor of the Melbourne Philharmonic Society, 1928-. Director of the New South Wales Conservatorium of Music, 1957-1965. Joseph Post (1906-1972) joined the ABC as conductor in 1933 and became assistant director of music in 1965. He succeeded Bernard Heinze as director of the New South Wales Conservatorium of music, 1965-1971.
