Sociologist, educator. M.S.S. from Smith College. Taught social work and family relations at University of the Pacific, Stockton, Calif. (1937-1976). Participated in establishment clinical services program, School of Education (1951). Director of Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education Mental Health Summer Work Study Program (1960-1970). Member ofGovernor's Advisory Committee on Children and Youth (1951-1954). Member of Board of Corrections Committee to study Los Guilicos School for girls following riot at school (1953). Member of Governor's Advisory Committee on Mental Health (1959-1966). Active in this role in reviewing legislative long-range planning and budgeting for mental health services. Involved with family relations agencies in Stockton, Calif., including: Stockton Family Service Agency; Stockton Community Council (1954-1974); San Joaquin Chapter of Mental Health Association (1964-1955). Also member of Northern California Family Relations Council (1964-1965).

Biography
A sociologist and educator, Fay Goleman received an M.S.S. from Smith College. She then taught Social Work and Family Relations at the College of the Pacific, Stockton, Calif. (1937-1976), where she also participated in the establishment of a Department of Clinical Services in the School of Education (1951). Goleman was a member of the Governor's Advisory Committee on Children and Youth (1951-1954), the Board of Corrections Committee to Study the Los Guilicos School for Girls riots (1953), the Governor's Advisory Committee on Mental Health (1959-1966) and the Stockton Community Council (1954-1974). She was also Director of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education Mental Health Summer Work Study Program (1960-1970) and member of the Northern California Family Relations Council (1964-1965).
